Hey everybody! I'm Joseph, and I'm currently taking AICE Media Studies. Right now, I am a junior in high school. I'm a big cinema fan and I really enjoy watching shows and movies.
So far, Media Studies has been fascinating. I love getting to learn about all the aspects of media from language to industry. I've gotten to analyze stills from popular shows (like Game of Thrones, Handmaid's Tale, Empire, et cetera) which was a really cool assignment. From the Portfolio process that's part of the class, I really hope to gain a better, more in-depth kind of understanding of what goes into making media what it is.
Speaking of the Portfolio, the project I'm considering doing right now is the short film opening. Like I said, I already do TV (both broadcast and film) so I have a good bit of experience in making short films. I also previously acted in another student's Media Studies project which was good fun!
Fun fact about me: It's almost impossible for me to pick a favorite movie. Everyone I talk to usually has one film that they know is their absolute all time favorite, but I'm not sure that I do. If I were to choose, I would say that it's either the Dune series directed by Denis Villeneuve (can't wait for Dune Part Three!) or Whiplash.
But yeah, that's pretty much it for now! I'll keep updating as the year progresses, so stay tuned!
